some of the macosx applications are nice, integrated packages (weathercat, weathersnoop), but they are not extensible. The details of the readings displayed are provided below.
#ACURITE 5 IN 1 WEATHERSNOOP UPDATE#
The Dashboard will update data every 5 minutes and will include the last data packet received within the 5-minute interval. davis' software is vantage-only, vis-reader is acurite-only, weather display is a rather haphazard accretion of features (sorry brian), virtual weather station is dated (sorry ed), wuhu has fallen behind, wview has stalled, wfrog has stalled. The AcuRite Iris (5-in-1) Weather Station collects outdoor temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, and rainfall readings. boris does fantastic things with meteobridge/hub, but that is not as general use as cumulus. On the other hand, cumulus probably provides the most elegant integrated system (i.e., with native graphic user interface) of any personal weather collection software. only weather display supports more hardware than weewx, and meteobridge/hub supports a few that weewx does not (we're working on that ) Weewx is pretty hard to beat if you want a bare-bones data collection system, or if you want easy database storage, or if you want to integrate with other systems, or if you want to get in there and customize things (at any level - hardware, collection, reporting, uploading).

In fact, cumulus mx is more like weewx than previous versions of cumulus: it runs on platforms other than windows, and the 'engine' and display are now separate components. steve has done a magnificent job with cumulus, and it looks like he is doing good things with cumulus mx. I am most definitely *not* saying that cumulus sucks.
